Winter Skin: What Is It And Our Top Tips For Dealing With It
What happens to our skin in winter and what can we do to combat common winter skin worries?
Pigmentation can pop up out of nowhere and this treatment has your back in healing and restoring your skin.

Lasers work very precisely; they are designed to seek out and target specific things in the skin, leaving everything else untouched.
This laser is set to target the pigment cells that cause patches of pigmentation, the cells absorb the light energy and are destroyed. As the number of cells reduces, pigmentation lightens and disappears. Pretty impressive, right?
The problem with pigmentation (including melasma), is that the condition can be very volatile and can be triggered easily, including by skin treatments, so you need to tip-toe around it carefully. Our pigmentation laser has a long wavelength and low absorption of haemoglobin and because of this it is a safer and more effective treatment and the skin’s reaction is milder, reducing inflammation and the likelihood of side effects.
The clinical benefits of this treatment have been proven over recent years on different skin colours including darker skin tones which traditionally haven’t been provided with a safe treatment option for melasma.
We recommend supporting your treatment with a personalised approach to your skincare. Ask our team for advice.
One of our experienced dermal clinicians will begin by cleansing your skin based on your individual skin profile.
Lasers produce a lot of heat, so this treatment is mildly uncomfortable, with most people describing a prickling sensation and some heat but rest assured the sensation does pass quickly. We will check in with you to make sure it’s tolerable for you and provide you with ice to cool the area as soon as possible.
This treatment is not what we would consider a lunchtime treatment, meaning you won’t look exactly the same as when you walked in, your skin may feel sensitive, you will be red, and you might experience some swelling.
To finish, your skin will be topped with a non-irritating sun protection product – an absolute must for your skincare routine.
Unlike some other lasers, our pigmentation and melasma laser has a unique wavelength that makes it safe for all skin colours. It is specifically for those whose skin considerations include:
