The princess and the pore -per
Ask any female what they like about their skin and we guarantee you will never hear the words, “I just love my pores!”
If you have a variety of skin considerations you’d love to treat, IPL could be the perfect one-stop-shop for you.
This machine is in fact not a laser – don’t be fooled! IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light which is a different treatment altogether.
IPL systems work on the same principles as lasers in that light energy is absorbed into its target in the skin. The light energy is converted to heat energy, which damages the cell that is causing your issue – whether it be a pigment cell or a blood vessel.
Where they differ is that IPL machines are termed “broad spectrum” because they deliver many wavelengths of light to the skin at once, and lasers deliver just one. The fact that they do this means they can treat a multitude of skin considerations at the same time – a real miracle treatment!
Using these versatile machines we can even tailor the treatment to specific wavelengths of light to target acne bacteria and inflammation reducing the severity of breakouts. Pretty impressive, right?
We recommend supporting your treatment with a personalised approach to your skincare. Ask our team for advice.
One of our experienced dermal clinicians will begin by cleansing your skin based on your individual skin profile.
IPL machines produce a lot of heat, so this treatment is mildly uncomfortable, with most people describing a prickling sensation and some heat but rest assured the sensation does pass quickly. We will check in with you to make sure it’s tolerable for you and provide you with ice to cool the area as soon as possible.
To finish, your skin will be topped with a non-irritating sun protection product – an absolute must for your skincare routine.
This treatment is not what we would consider a lunchtime treatment, meaning you won’t look exactly the same as when you walked in, your skin may feel sensitive, you will be red, and you might experience some swelling.
IPL machines are not suitable for all skin colours as they can increase the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation. We have many alternatives available so speak to our expert team to create a safe and personalised plan. IPL can be used to treat a combination of the following:
Time: 60 minutes.
Cost: Small spot area: $199 | Half face or equivalent: $299 | Face: $399 | Large or two areas: $699 | Package price: 3 x $599| Package price: 6 x $1,119.00
