The pigmentation professors.
Our guide to what causes it, how to avoid it, and if you need to, how to treat it.
All those pesky pigmented lesions that appear because of time spent in the sun are targeted and treated with this magical laser.
Lasers work very precisely – they are designed to seek out and target specific things in the skin, leaving everything else untouched.
With this treatment, the laser is set to target the brown pigment in unwanted lesions such as freckles. The intense energy will find the target and destroy the pigment cells leaving all other skin cells untouched, which makes for a very safe experience.
The wavelength of this laser is so precise that it will effectively treat pigmented lesions but will leave blood vessels intact which reduces the inflammation caused by the treatment and reduces the chance of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) making it a fantastic treatment for all skin colours.

One of our experienced dermal clinicians will begin by cleansing your skin based on your individual skin profile.
Lasers produce a lot of heat, so this treatment is mildly uncomfortable, with most people describing a prickling sensation and some heat but rest assured the sensation does pass quickly. We will check in with you to make sure it’s tolerable for you and provide you with ice to cool the area as soon as possible.
This treatment is not what we would consider a lunchtime treatment, meaning you won’t look exactly the same as when you walked in, your skin may feel sensitive, you will be red, and you might experience some swelling.
To finish, your skin will be topped with a non-irritating sun protection product – an absolute must for now and into the future. A crust may form on the treatment area over your freckles and other pigmented lesions, and the treated area can appear darker initially. After 7-10 days the crusts will spontaneously fall off and the pigmentation will appear lighter in colour and smaller in size.
Unlike some other lasers – our freckle, age & sunspot laser has a unique wavelength that makes it safe for all skin colours. It is specifically for those whose skin considerations include:
